The Seaborg Institute at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) offers a Nuclear Forensics Summer Internship Program for 8 weeks from June through August. This program offers graduate students the opportunity to work directly with leading LLNL researchers on projects in the areas of nuclear forensics, nuclear chemistry, and environmental radiochemistry. Students carry out directed research, attend weekly topical lectures, and interact with other students. The mission of the Seaborg Institute is to facilitate the training of the next generation of nuclear scientists.
Dates & Location: 2017: June 12 - August 4. LLNL is located in Livermore, CA - 40 miles east of San Francisco.
Requirements: The successful applicant must be a U.S. citizen and currently enrolled in a M.S. or PhD graduate program, or entering a program in the fall. Applicants are required to submit a CV/resume, a short statement of research interests, 1 letter of recommendation, as well as their graduate/undergraduate transcripts. Financial support: LLNL offers a generous salary depending on year in school and reimbursement for travel to and from LLNL.

The Seaborg Institute invites graduate students and faculty to come throughout the year to conduct research with staff scientists in the areas of environmental radiochemistry, nuclear forensics and heavy element research. Visiting scientists are also invited to use our unique facilities.
